My favorite question was when you had to say if you think the story should have ended differently because it should what you thought of the story.Talking did not change my mine about my answers. When Lesley talked about Searchlight’s heart bursting out it changed my thinking around.Having parents did making it different because they all had different answers, though the kids mostly had the same answers. It is important to talk about books we are reading because we all have to work to build up our minds.

My favorite qestion was “Did you like the end of the story why or why not.” I said I liked it because, the ending of each story does not have to be happily ever after.

today was not really that fun. My favorite qestion was why did stonefox let Willy win because I think stone fox cared for willy and his dog. The talking didnt cange my thinking. It made it differentce because you had to expain it to them. It is impotant because so you become a better reader.

My favorite question was if you would be Willy’s friend because I like friends who are brave. Talking did change my thoughts because I thought Stone Fox was a mean man. But when I heard that he let Willy win I really thought he was nice inside of him. I heard that someone was brave like Willy when they had to go on a rollacoaster and they were really scared.

My favorite question is would you recommend this book to a friend I like to share books with my friends. When I was talking about the book the book changed my thinking it made me better at answering questions. No I did not have any thoughts or idaes when I was reading. Having my dad there made it different because he was the only parent in the group. It is important to talk about the book when we are reading so I could recommend the book to my friends.

My favorite question was do you think the ending should have ended diffrently? It was my favorite question because everybody had different answers. Yes talking about the book made me think differently about the book because everybody had so much to say and hearing diffrent peoples thoughts made me kind of change my answers. Yes i had heard diffrent thoughts that were new for me but not to much of that.
it didnt make it such a diffrence with the parents there it’s like they were kids and respond like we do. It’s important that we discuss what were reading to know what are people think and to really know what the book is about and to see what are people think.

My favorite question is when I had to be brave like Little Willy because I got to express when I had to be brave. No because my thinking was the same when I read the book.No because my answers were very simalar to the kids in my group’s answer. It was different because it got me very nerves. So that if someone does not understand talking about the book might get them to understand the whole consept a little bit clear better.

There are some interesting ideas up here already!

Remember, the questions I wrote are just a guide to help you respond. Do not write “yes” or “no” answers. Explain your thinking. Before you click “submit,” ask yourself if somebody would be able to understand your response even if they did not read the questions that I wrote. If the answer to that is “no,” go back and revise before you click submit!

My favorite question was why Stone Fox let Little Willy win. This was my favorite question because Stone Fox felt bad for Willy.

Discussing the book did not change my opinion on the book.

Something new that I heard from people wanting to recommend the book to dogs and cats.

Having the parents there made it different and interesting because I also got to hear their questions and comments.

It is important to discuss a book that is read because if he or she does not understand a part in the book, someone else can explain it to them. It is also a good way to express your opinions.

in the book talk having the parents come was realy helpfull.it was fun rolling the dice and reading the questions.then we had to answer them from our memory.

My favorite question is would you want to have a friend like Willy. This is my favorite question because Willy is a nice person that doesn’t only care about himself. I do think that the book should have ended different because it didn’t give much information in the end of the book.

  16.   rachelon 20 Sep 2007 at 6:27 pm

My favorite question was when we talked about how Willy was brave.willy was brave to enter the race he also entered that race so he could win the money for his grandpa because his grandpa was dieing. Stone Fox was nice to let willy win the race because he knew willy needed the money more. Willy would loose his grandpa’s farm. It was sad that willy lost his dog because the dog died.I would like to have willy as a friend because willy is nice and caring and brave and cares about people and he never gives up. I would tell all my friends about the book so they can read it and like it.

My favorite question was do you think the story should have ended differently? It was my favorite because everyone wanted it to go one wayand another.Yes talking about the book changed my thinking because everyone had different things to say and i stared to change my mind.Yes i heard different thoughts that were new to me but not so so much.No having the parents did not make it different because it is like their kid just maybe taller. It is important to talk about the books we are reading because if someone doesn’t get one part of the book they can talk about it with a group of kids.

  18.   reineron 20 Sep 2007 at 8:11 pm

I liked Stone Fox because it encouraged you to read more like is he going to win or not.

  19.   mr scherzingeron 20 Sep 2007 at 8:42 pm

Fun time… nice to talk with my son reiner and the rest of you kids about the book. Stone Fox was a great book with an ending that really made you think.

How about this… stone fox always used the prize money he won to buy back land that was taken away from his people. Maybe he also let willy win because stone fox knew the money was going to save willys grandfathers land from being taken away.

I look forward to the next discussion.

My favorite question was did you want to end the story difrentley why or why not? I liked that question because I just loved the ending because it ended difrentley all the other storys ended with happy endingsand that started to bore me. I That ending is sad but great to the reader.

  21.   arikon 20 Sep 2007 at 9:04 pm

My favorite qestion was Did you like the end of the story why or why not because I really had to think about it since I liked the end but I did not like the begining.talking about the book sort of made me come up with new ideas because when I heard what other people were saying it made me think of more.I have heard some thoghts that were new for me like lesley said that searchlights heart bearst when I was reading I never really paid attention to that.

  22.   nsklaron 20 Sep 2007 at 9:09 pm

I feel that it is important to talk about books that we read because you get to share and hear different thoughts and ideas. It was helpful to have the parents join the book talk because we read the book together as a family over the summer and it was a really nice book to discuss as a group.
